Helping Hounds Announces New Board President and Vice President

Syracuse, NY (April 26, 2019) – Helping Hounds Dog Rescue welcomed Crystal DeStefano, APR and Katrina Crocker to its Board of Directors at the organization’s April board meeting. At the meeting, DeStefano was elected to serve as president of the board and Crocker will serve as vice president.

“Crystal and Katrina were specifically recruited this year to join the board and help lead Helping Hounds through our next exciting chapter,” said Kathy Gilmour, Executive Director at Helping Hounds Dog Rescue. “Our organization is in the midst of great transition as we prepare to move operations to our new space located in the Town of Cicero. This move allows us to act on our mission through expansion of services, and to better meet the needs of the dogs we rescue and our family of adoptive parents. Both women bring extensive leadership and business experience that is necessary during this period of growth.”

Helping Hounds Purchases new facility and

prepares to raise costs for renovations.

DeWitt, NY, February 27, 2019– Helping Hounds Dog Rescue is excited to share the news that the non-profit has purchased a new facility.  “After several months of searching, we are excited to announce that we have found our new home,” said Helping Hounds Dog Rescue (HHDR) Executive Director Kathy Gilmour.  “Once renovated, this new facility will allow us the space we require to perform more of the life-saving services we’ve brought into this community for the past 10 years.”

The new facility is located at 7268 Caswell Street in North Syracuse.  “In addition to our successful adoption program,” Gilmour added, “we will now be able to add additional services to our community including animal welfare services, do training and humane education programs.”

With the purchase of this facility, HHDR is launching a campaign to raise $1.2 million for renovations of the new location.  As part of the campaign, several Naming Opportunities will be available for individuals and businesses to show support of the organization’s mission and future.
