Our new 9,000 square foot facility has been thoughtfully designed with input from Cornell Shelter Medicine Program. The design will not only provide a more comfortable stay for our dogs, it will provide the opportunity to expand services into our community including
• Respite Care for those needing short term stays for their dog through a financial, medical or personal crisis.
• Dog Training and Socialization Classes
• Humane Education Programs to teach our children to be better caretakers of our companion animals
The heart of Helping Hounds is our adoption program which relies on the dedication of our army of volunteers. They become family that support not only our dogs, but each other through the emotional ups and downs of rescue work and life. We will forever feel the loss of Kelly Wilson, but her light continues to guide our work. Our future Kelly Wilson Adoption Center will provide 50 modern and comfortable kennels while our dogs wait for their forever homes.
Helping Hounds Dog Rescue is a 501 (c) (3) non profit organization funded by donations, fundraisers and adoption fees, that works to find forever homes for rescue dogs in the Central New York area.
