Helping Hounds Dog Rescue is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization seeking a Full-Time Animal Care Specialist. This position is 40-hour work week and may require weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities include:

Assisting in training and supervising volunteers; enhancing effective working partnerships

Overseeing the health and enrichment of dogs

Making recommendations and implementing plans to meet the needs of dogs Interacting with the public in a professional manner

Cleaning and disinfecting

The position requires the ability to walk or stand for long periods of time, be able to lift or carry up to 50 pounds, be able to maintain professional composure during emotional moments, the ability to work outside in all types of weather and possess the flexibility and organizational skills to complete tasks with frequent interruptions. Must be able to work weekends and holidays. Must possess a valid NYS driver’s license and able to occasionally transport dogs.
